Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Police reported they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then located many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
